About Portugal Day
Portugal Day is the national day of Portugal, held on June 10, the traditional anniversary of the death of the poet Luís de Camões in 1580. It also honors the Portuguese communities around the world.
The official ceremony takes place each year in a different city, and there are events abroad where Portuguese communities live. It falls in the middle of the Santos Populares festivities, with grilled sardines and street parties.
