How many days until Christmas?

When is Christmas?

Christmas is on December 25 every year.

About Christmas

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus and is one of the most widely observed holidays in the world. It’s a time of decorated trees, gift-giving, carols and long meals with family and friends.

In many countries the celebrations begin on Christmas Eve, December 24, and the season runs from Advent in late November or early December into the new year.

Make the wait part of the fun

• Make a list of everyone you’re buying for early, and tick them off as the days fall away.
• Plan a cookie-baking or tree-decorating day and give it a countdown of its own.
• Pick one small festive thing to do each week of December: a market, a film, a walk to see the lights.
