Three Kings Day (Día de Reyes) is on January 6 every year. It’s a public holiday in Spain and is widely celebrated in Mexico, Argentina and other Spanish-speaking countries, with the Reyes Magos parade the evening before.

Three Kings Day, also called Epiphany, celebrates the arrival of the three wise men who brought gifts to the infant Jesus. In Spain and many Latin American countries, it’s the day children receive their presents.

The evening of January 5 brings the Reyes Magos parade, and the day itself is marked with a ring-shaped sweet bread, the roscón de Reyes in Spain and the rosca de Reyes in Mexico. In Mexico, whoever finds the small figure hidden in the bread traditionally hosts a party on February 2.
